Large-Format Sundial Printing and Installation for Cubed
A large building feature has to work from a distance, but the quality is decided close up. Redblock Branding Solutions recently completed the large-format printing and installation of a sundial graphic for Cubed. The finished installation creates a clear architectural focal point high on the building facade.
Redblock’s confirmed responsibility on this project was the printing and installation. The available project information does not confirm who designed the sundial artwork, so no design credit is claimed in this article.
Preparing a Large Graphic for Installation
Large-format work begins before the installation team reaches the site. The printed sections need to be prepared in a practical sequence so the team can identify, position and align them during fitment. This kind of planning forms an important part of professional large-format printing services.
The sundial layout contains long radial lines, numbers and a strong central shape. These details make alignment especially important. A small shift between sections would be visible in the completed image, particularly when the graphic is viewed from ground level.
The exact printed material has not been confirmed for this case study. The project is therefore described accurately as a large-format printed graphic without adding an unsupported material specification.
Installation at Height
This was a high-level facade installation completed with access equipment. The working position, the size of the printed sections and the limited viewing distance at the surface required careful teamwork.
The installation team worked progressively across the facade, checking each section against the surrounding lines and numbers. The project photographs show the feature moving from a partly covered surface to one connected sundial graphic.
For work at this scale, the team has to balance efficient progress with accurate placement. The strongest result is achieved when the separate printed sections read as one finished visual from below.
From Separate Sections to One Finished Feature
The final result is easy to read because the installation work does not compete with the artwork. The black sundial markings remain clear against the light background, while the completed feature is visible from across the site.
The project also shows how large-format printing can be used for more than a standard advertising panel. A building facade can carry a distinctive visual feature when print preparation and installation are coordinated around the available surface.
Redblock does not claim that the installed feature was technically calibrated as a working timepiece. It is described here only as the Cubed sundial graphic shown in the approved project media.
Why Alignment Matters in Large-Format Facade Work
Large graphics are normally viewed from further away, but viewers still notice interrupted lines, uneven spacing and sections that do not meet correctly. Accurate alignment protects the overall appearance and helps the finished image read immediately.
Site access, surface condition, artwork scale and the installation sequence all influence the final fitment plan. Each project should therefore be assessed on its own requirements instead of assuming that one installation method suits every building.
