CNC Routing

We also own a CNC Routing machine with a cutting bed size of 2.5m x 1.3m. We are however, not limited to manufacturing signs of the bed size, but rather, the size of a component, such as a letter, number or part of your sign – thus, we are able to supply you with a size of around 5 times this size.
With the combination of 3 laser engravers & a CNC router, we are able to cut a massive variety of sheet materials & manufacture unique & striking 3D signs all under one roof (in-house)

This goes to say, the harder the rigid flat sheet of material, the more costly it is to cut. Depending on the type of material, different drill bits & settings are used to cut the materials. Drill bits designed to be able to cut harder substances & materials, are in general, more costly to buy, cutting- or engraving time is increased, and these drill bits become dull much quicker.

We are however, limited to the materials we can use on the CNC routing machine. The thickest metal we are able to cut, is about 3mm thick – depending on the metal itself. We have a firm policy that only allows us to accept orders that we are capable of cutting or engraving, should we not be able to accept an order, we will not hesitate to refer you to a company that is able to assist you with your request. Our policy includes that we only manufacture in-house, unless a client specifically asks us to be a middleman for another company’s services. (This ensures we are able to take responsibility & pride in our final products offered to you)

What is the lead time on CNC routed materials/products?

We aim to complete orders within 1 – 2 working days (after layout approval & payment confirmation) & have it ready for collection or dispatch for a courier.

We stock the most common drill bits for most materials, however should a specific drill bit be required, the lead-time will naturally be extended with an additional day or two.

What do you need from clients to provide a quote?

1. The size & design required to be cut
2. The type & thickness of material/substrate to be cut
3. Confirmation whether the material will be supplied by the client or us

How should artwork be supplied by the client?

For quoting purposes, we do not require a specific format, however should you place an order, we do need the file in line art(vector) format. We do offer the service of converting your artwork file to this format and will quote separately for this.

In the case of a reseller/dealer/middleman we prefer a CAD file or line art PDF/cdr files.

Are you able to supply a single item that has been cut?

Yes. However, we do have a minimum order policy of R500 (excl VAT)

Can I supply my own materials to be cut?

Yes. However, our rate-per-minute is higher than the rate-per-minute should we supply the materials.

Do you deliver?

Yes. The delivery fee will be calculated on the size & weight of your product.

Who is your target market?

The reseller market, mainly sign-rigging companies as well as end-users where we rig these signs ourselves which contributes to roughly 40% of our annual turnover.

What is the difference between CNC routing & laser engraving?

A CNC router uses a physical drill bit to cut & engrave, whereas a laser engraver uses a laser beam to cut & engrave

Laser engraving

Our Laser engraving equipment consists of:

130 Watt, Bed size 1.3 x 900mm
180 watt, Bed size 1.3 x 900mm
30 Watt, Bed size 600 x 300mm

With our assortment of laser engraving equipment, we are able to cut & engrave a large variety of materials, including but not limited to :
Foam board
MDF wood
Plexi glass

Depending on the size of your order, a setup fee may be applicable & the costing of the engraving or cutting is based on the time the engraver uses to complete the cutting or engraving

Unique & 3D signs (Perspex, Dibond, Wood & LED illuminated signs)

With a combination of our rigid flat sheet raw materials/substrates that range from pine wood, MDF, Perspex, Flex Face, Aluminium Coated Di-Bond and I-Bond sheets in different thicknesses, your range of options & possibilities are virtually limitless. A lot more time, expertise & raw materials go into the manufacturing of these unique and 3D signs, which contributes to a more expensive signs than that of the conventional Chromadek, Flex Face or basic light box signs.

Should your sign requirements fall outside our area of expertise, we will gladly refer you to another sign and manufacturing company that could be of assistance.

Our lead-time on these unique custom manufactured signs are about 2 -3 weeks, depending on the complexity of your signs.

We use a few different methods of adhesion & rigging of these signs, which includes:

1. Double sided tape & heavy duty adhesives(glue)
2. Rawl Bolts (Anchoring Bolts)
3. Steel Pins
4. Stand offs (Aluminium Spacers & Grips that are available in a variety of widths, lengths and diameters)

Included in your quote is a site inspection fee, which is an industry standard prior to rigging your in-or outdoor sign.

If you require a site inspection prior to your quote, we will charge a call-out fee that ranges from R600-R800 (depending on the distance you are from our offices). 2/3 of the amount will be credited should the order be placed with us.

Please note that we do not offer the services of connecting electrical components in the case of illuminated signs that are rigged outdoors. Indoor illuminated signs can be sufficiently connected by means of an electrical cord extension neatly hidden
